Room In Roof Insulation

If you have a converted loft space and your home was built prior to 2002, the chances are there is little to no insulation present, meaning the room will be cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. Room in roof insulation is a must for any home with a converted loft space. The installations are completed by installing an insulation backed plaster board to all sloped areas, gable and stud walls with a plaster skim finish and traditional loft roll is installed in any pitched roof space between joists to ensure the full room is well insulated to help reduce heat loss and reduce your energy bills!

Loft Insulation

Loft insulation is one of the easiest and cheapest ways, to reduce the heat lost in your home. As heat rises, without insulation in your loft, this is lost and your energy bills will mount up. Having your loft insulated can make a huge difference in keeping your home nice and toastie warm, as well as reducing your energy bills too! If you have a traditional loft with a hatch for access it might be worth having insulation installed, even if this is just a top up to meet current building regulations. We NEVER install spray foam insulation, this should be avoided at all costs and can be damaging to your property.

Cavity Wall Insulation

The majority of heat lost in UK homes is through uninsulated walls. If your home has cavity construction walls, we can test to see if any insulation is present. If your home is not insulated this can be done by injecting the walls with a specialised cavity wall insulation product from outside the property. Cavity wall insulation gets a bad rep, but installed correctly with a suitable damp proof course and the correct product type for your home, the only results should be a warm home and reduced energy bills!

Internal Wall Insulation

Internal wall insulation is completed by installing insulation to the interior face of the external walls of your home. There are various methods of installation however the most popular is the application of timber insulation backed battens with specialised insulation placed between those battens and a vapour layer installed prior to plaster board and skim finish (see our portfolio page for some examples). Internal wall insulation can, however, be disruptive and we often have to  remove and re-fix items such as switches, radiators and sockets, so this is something to consider when deciding how to insulate your home. Internal wall insulation is often used to insulate solid brick and stone wall properties, and can help to reduce your energy bills considerably.

Under Floor Insulation.jpeg

Under Floor Insulation

If the ground floor of your property has suspended floors with a void below, like a high percentage of UK homes do, unless the void between the ground of the property and the floor level is insulated properly, you may notice draughts and the cold air circulating below will cause the floor to feel cold and not to mention contribute to lost heat and increased energy bills. We can insulate your suspended floors by installing specialised floor insulation product between the floor joists to help retain heat, keep your feet nice and warm and reduce your energy consumption saving you £££ on your utility bills!

Electric Storage Heater.jpeg

Electric Storage Heaters

If electric is the only source of fuel available to heat your home, high heat retention electric storage heaters may be a good option for you. High heat retention storage heaters are a type of electric heater, designed to store heat during off-peak electricity hours and then release heat slowly as you desire. This allows the heater to use electricity at a lower unit cost, as off-peak rates are lower than peak rates. You would need to switch over to a dual rate electricity tariff, if you decide to have electric storage heaters installed to take advantage of the lower unit rates, in the off-peak periods. Modern storage heaters are extremely efficient and have sophisticated built in controls, to allow you to set the temperatures you wish and create a comfortable home environment. We only install the best electric storage heaters and therefore, Dimplex and Elnur are our chosen brands. If you also pair your electric storage heater installation with solar PV panels, you will further reduce your energy bills and increase the efficiency of your home!

Solar PV

Solar power can help save you money on your energy bills, increase the value of your home, and reduce your carbon footprint. We only use experienced solar engineers and all our installations come with an MCS certificate and insurance backed guarantee, giving you piece of mind. If you are looking to utilise the government-backed funding to have solar panels installed at your home,  they must be installed with an electric heating system such as an air source heat pump or electric storage heaters. Funding streams are added frequently so if you are interested in a stand alone, funded, solar PV installation, get in touch so we can let you know when further funding becomes available.

Air Source Heat Pumps

Air source heat pumps utilise fresh air and run on electricity to heat your home and water. Used correctly an air source heat pump could reduce your COâ‚‚ emissions by up to 75%, and help reduce your heating costs too, especially when paired with solar PV panels! Our air source heat pump engineers have years of experience and plenty of knowledge to share. If you would like to discuss the possibility of an installation at your home, get in touch with us and we can advise you on the best way to move forwards. We only install the best heat pumps and full heat calculations are performed to ensure the correct size heat pump and radiators are installed at your home so you get the best result from your installation.
